ChannelEngine processes the personal data of our users, which includes you as a visitor of our website.In order to provide transparency and clarity in our processing activities of your personal data, this Privacy Notice will inform you of your rights and our respective obligations towards you. Children’s personal data that we can process

If you are younger than 16 years, please seek your parents permission to visit our site and accept the processing of your data. Our website and/or service does not have the intention to collect data about website visitors who are younger than 16 years of age,unless they have permission from their parents or guardians. However, we cannot check and confirm whether a visitor is over 16 years old. We therefore recommend that parents are involved in their children’s online activities in order to prevent data being collected from children without parental consent. If you believe or suspect that we have collected personal information about a minor that is younger than 16 years without parental consent, please contact us at hello@channelengine.com and we will take the right measures in order to delete that information.

For what purpose and on what basis do we process personal data?

ChannelEngine may process your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To send you our newsletter if you are subscribed;
  • To be able to call or email you if this is necessary in order to be able to perform our obligations towards you arising from your requests;
  • ChannelEngine retains and evaluates information of your behavior on the website for analytical purposes in order to improve the website and tailor the range of products and services to your preferences;
  • ChannelEngine  processes personal data if we are legally obligated to do so

Retention period

The personal data will be stored for a maximum of 2 years after your visit to the website. Once this period has expired, we will take the appropriate measures to delete your data. However, we may retain your data for a longer period of time if this is required or permitted by applicable law. Examples can include mandatory data retention laws in the applicable jurisdiction, government orders to preserve data relevant to an investigation or data that must be retained for the purposes of litigation.

Sharing personal data with third parties

ChannelEngine will not share your personal data with third parties. If we are planning on sharing your data with sub processors or third parties, in order to comply with any legal obligation or we may share your personal data with third parties that are service providers or third parties that need to know the personal data in connection with products or services we provide to you, and to accomplish our business purposes and objectives as outlined in the notice, we will notify you with a list of those sub processors.  We enter into a data processing agreement with companies that process your data on our behalf to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data. 

Your Rights

You have the right to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data. In addition, you have the right to withdraw your consent to the data processing or to object to the processing of your personal data by ChannelEngine and you have the right to data transferability. This means that you can submit a request to us to send your personal data in a computer file to you or to another organization you have specified. You can send a request for access, correction, deletion, or data transfer of your personal data or for the withdrawal of your consent or objection to the processing of your personal data to hello@channelengine.com.

Please note that if you send us a request relating to your personal data, we have to make sure that it is you before we can proceed with the request. We want to be certain that it is you who is actually exercising the rights to your own personal data and not a third party that does not have these rights. In relation to this, we may ask you to disclose a copy of your identification document to us in order to verify that it is you. In this requested copy, please make your passport photo MRZ (which means machine readable zone, with the strip with the numbers at the bottom of the passport) and we kindly instruct you to blacken your own passport number and Social Security number (BSN) for your own privacy. We will respond to your request as soon as possible and we will ensure that we respond within four weeks.

We may in some cases use automated decision-making if it is authorized by legislation, if you have provided explicit consent You can always request a manual decision-making process instead, express your opinion, or contest a decision based solely on automated processing, including profiling, if such a decision would produce legal consequences or otherwise similarly significantly affects you.
